Taleggio Foundry Font Software End User License Agreement v1.0
Effective date: 2 October 2026
This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal agreement between you ("Licensee", "you") and Tetiana Chernodub, the author of the Font Software, who publishes her typefaces under the name Taleggio Foundry, https://taleggiofoundry.com ("Licensor", "we"). By downloading, installing or using the Font Software you accept this Agreement. If you do not accept it, do not download, install or use the Font Software.
This Agreement applies to fonts bought directly from Taleggio Foundry's own product pages (currently on Gumroad) and on marketplaces that sell our fonts under this Agreement. Where a marketplace sells our fonts under its own licence (for example MyFonts or Creative Market), that marketplace's licence governs your purchase instead of this Agreement.
The store where you buy a License (for example Gumroad) is the seller: it takes your payment, issues your receipt, charges any sales tax or VAT and handles refunds and statutory withdrawal rights. The License itself is granted to you by Licensor under this Agreement.
1. Definitions
- Font Software: the font files you received (OTF, TTF, WOFF2 or any other format), including their outlines, data, metadata and any updates we provide. Font Software is computer software.
- License: the licence type you bought (Desktop, Web, App or ePub), as shown on your receipt. You may hold several Licenses for the same font.
- User: one natural person who uses the Font Software on any number of devices they personally use.
- Website: a website under a domain or subdomain owned or controlled by you, or by the client the License was bought for.
- App: one software application, game or digital product (with its versions, updates and editions on any platform) published under one title.
- ePub Title: one electronic publication (e-book, e-magazine issue, digital report) under one title, including its editions and formats.
- Page View: one load of a web page that uses the Font Software, counted per month across all pages of all Websites covered by the License.
- Logo: a graphic mark, wordmark or other brand identity made with the Font Software and converted to outlines or pixels.
2. Ownership
The Font Software is licensed, not sold. Licensor keeps all copyright and other rights in the Font Software. You receive only the rights this Agreement grants. The names of our fonts are used to identify them and may be our trademarks.
3. What every License allows
Under any License you may:
- use the Font Software for personal and commercial projects, for yourself or for your clients;
- create Logos, including logos that you or your client register as trademarks; the design of a Logo belongs to its owner, while the Font Software remains ours;
- create printed and static digital works of any kind and quantity, including products for sale (posters, packaging, apparel, books, signage, video, images, social media graphics), provided the Font Software itself is not distributed with them;
- embed the Font Software in PDF and other documents so that they display and print correctly (the fonts carry the "installable" embedding permission), provided the embedded font cannot be extracted and installed as a desktop font;
- make backup copies of the Font Software for your own use;
- give a copy to a printer, service bureau or contractor who works on your project on your behalf, provided they use it only for that project and delete it when the work is done, or hold their own licence.
4. License types
4.1 Desktop License
Allows installation and use of the Font Software on computers and devices used by up to 5 Users in your organisation. More Users need additional Desktop Licenses.
4.2 Web License
Allows the WOFF2 files of the Font Software to be self-hosted and displayed with CSS @font-face on any number of Websites owned or controlled by the same Licensee, with up to 10,000 Page Views per month in total. You must host the files on a server you control and take reasonable steps to prevent them from being downloaded as installable fonts (for example, not linking to them directly and not placing them in a public repository). Higher traffic needs a higher tier: contact us. The Web License does not allow desktop installation.
4.3 App License
Allows the Font Software to be embedded in one App, for distribution to any number of end users, provided the Font Software is embedded in a way that end users cannot access, extract or install it as a font, and end users cannot use it to set text outside the App's own interface and content. Allowing end users to type their own text in the font for export (for example in a design tool, template editor or print-on-demand customiser) needs a separate agreement with us.
4.4 ePub License
Allows the Font Software to be embedded in one ePub Title, distributed in any number of copies, provided the Font Software is embedded (preferably as a subset) and cannot be extracted as an installable font.
Server use (installing the Font Software on a server to generate text for others on demand, other than a Website under 4.2) is not offered under this Agreement: contact us.
5. What is not allowed
Unless you have our written permission, you may not:
- share, sell, sublicense, lend, rent or otherwise distribute the Font Software, in whole or in part, alone or bundled with other material, including templates or files that contain the Font Software, except as allowed in 3.4, 3.6, 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4;
- modify, adapt, translate, convert to another format, rename, or create derivative fonts from the Font Software, or edit its outlines or metadata; you may alter the outlines of individual letters as artwork, for example in a Logo, once they are converted to outlines;
- reverse engineer or decompile the Font Software, except to the extent the law allows this despite a contractual prohibition;
- use the Font Software, or images of its glyphs made to capture the design of the typeface, to train, fine-tune or evaluate any machine-learning or artificial-intelligence system, or include them in any dataset for that purpose; this does not restrict your own works made with the Font Software (3.2 and 3.3);
- use the Font Software in a way that breaks the law or infringes the rights of others.
6. Updates and upgrades
We may provide corrected or extended versions of the Font Software. Each new version is licensed to you under this Agreement, or under the version of our EULA in force when you bought your License, whichever you choose. A License for one font does not cover other fonts, styles or families.
7. Term and termination
This Agreement and your License last indefinitely. They end automatically, without notice, if you breach any of their terms. When they end you must stop using the Font Software and delete all copies. Works you lawfully created and distributed before termination (printed matter, published documents, Logos) are not affected.
8. Warranty
We warrant that the Font Software, when delivered, works substantially as described on its product page. If it does not and we cannot fix the defect within a reasonable time, you may ask for a refund within 14 days of purchase through the store where you bought it. Otherwise the Font Software is provided "as is", without other warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent the law allows. If you are a consumer, this section does not limit your statutory rights, including your rights when digital content does not conform to the contract.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability arising from this Agreement or the Font Software is limited to the amount you paid for the License, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits or lost data. Nothing in this Agreement limits liability for damage caused intentionally, or any liability that cannot be limited under the law, including the rights of consumers under mandatory law.
10. Governing law
This Agreement is governed by the law of the Republic of Poland, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Disputes are settled by the court competent for Licensor's place of residence, except that a consumer may also bring proceedings in the courts of their own country and keeps the protection of the mandatory law of that country.
11. General
This Agreement is the entire agreement about the Font Software between you and us. If a provision is invalid, the rest remains in force, and the invalid provision is replaced by a valid one closest to its purpose. Our failure to enforce a provision does not waive it. You may transfer your License to another party only with all copies of the Font Software and our written consent; a client you bought the License for may take it over when the project is handed over, if you inform us. If this Agreement is translated, the English text prevails.
